316 Keywords for "Mobile Car Detailing": A Google Autocomplete Case Study
33 queries, 316 unique keywords, and the patterns hiding in them: what a real autocomplete dataset reveals about a local-service niche.
Advice about keyword research is easy to find. Real datasets are not. So we ran a complete Google Autocomplete research session on one seed keyword, mobile car detailing, and looked at what came back.
Everything below comes from that single session, collected with NicheSpark on google.com in English on 12 October 2026. Nothing was added by hand.
The setup
| Method | Queries | Example |
|---|---|---|
| A to Z | 26 | mobile car detailing a … z |
| Prefix | 3 | best, affordable, cheap + seed |
| Suffix | 4 | seed + near me, cost, prices, services |
All 33 queries returned suggestions: 328 suggestions in total, which merged into 316 unique keywords once duplicates were removed. Collection ran one query at a time with a pause of several seconds between queries.
Headline numbers
- 316 unique keywords from 33 queries, almost 10 per query.
- 4.9 words per keyword on average. 200 keywords (63%) were five words or longer: genuine long-tail.
- 12 keywords were found by more than one query, the strongest themes in the niche.
- 252 keywords came only from the A to Z pass, and prefixes and suffixes found 56 keywords that A to Z missed entirely.
Pattern 1: location dominates
For most letters, Google completed the query with a place: mobile car detailing austin, mobile car detailing raleigh nc, mobile car detailing west palm beach. 95 keywords ended with a US state name or abbreviation such as nc, va or ohio, and many more ended with a city name alone.
That is typical of a local service: people search with the place they need it. If you run a detailing business, those city completions show which nearby areas get searched by name, and which deserve a dedicated location page, if you really serve them.
There was international noise too: 23 keywords pointed outside the US, such as mobile car detailing uk, mobile car detailing qatar, mobile car detailing zurich and mobile car detailing prices australia. Filter these out if you only serve one market.
Pattern 2: "near me" has its own long tail
29 keywords were "near me" or similar local-intent searches. The interesting part is the extra words people add:
- mobile car detailing near me within 5 mi, within 1 mi and within 20 mi: distance matters.
- mobile car detailing near me come to my house: the whole point of mobile detailing, said out loud.
- mobile car detailing near me open now and book online: ready to buy.
Each of these is a message to put on a service page: service radius, "we come to you", opening hours and online booking.
Pattern 3: price is a major theme
39 keywords were about price, cost, quotes or budget: mobile car detailing prices list, mobile car detailing average cost, mobile car detailing quote, cheap mobile car detailing near me prices. Price also appeared in the A to Z pass on its own: the letter p returned mobile car detailing prices near me and prices list.
A clear, honest pricing page is one of the most obvious content opportunities in this niche.
Pattern 4: a second audience of business owners
Not every searcher wants a car cleaned. 17 keywords came from people starting or running a detailing business:
- mobile car detailing business for sale, business start up cost, setup cost
- mobile car detailing equipment, equipment for sale, kit, van for sale
- mobile car detailing insurance, insurance cost, income, jobs
The cost suffix made this especially clear: half of its 10 suggestions were business costs, namely startup cost, setup cost, insurance cost, business cost and business start up cost. That's a different site, or a different section, aimed at would-be owners: guides, equipment reviews, business plans.
Pattern 5: the letters that break the pattern
A few letters returned completions you wouldn't guess:
| Letter | What came back |
|---|---|
| e | equipment, equipment for sale |
| i | in my area, insurance, interior, income |
| k | kit among the cities |
| m | mold removal near me |
| q | quote |
| x | business names that start with x, such as xtreme mobile car detailing |
The letter x is a good lesson: when no natural completion exists, Google may show names that contain the letter at the start instead. All 10 x suggestions put the brand name before the seed. 14 keywords in total looked like business names, useful for competitor research, but not targets.
What the prefixes added
Prefix queries pulled in synonyms the seed never would. affordable mobile car detailing returned six suggestions starting with cheap, plus affordable mobile auto detailing and affordable mobile car cleaning. In other words: Google treats affordable and cheap as close relatives, and "auto detailing" and "car cleaning" are alternative phrasings worth covering on the same pages.
The best prefix produced mostly best + city searches, plus best mobile car detailing near me reviews: people comparing providers and checking reviews before booking.
The 12 keywords found more than once
When two different queries return the same keyword, it's a strong signal. These were the overlaps:
- mobile car detailing near me, near me prices, near me within 5 mi and near me come to my house (from n and the near me suffix)
- mobile car detailing prices, prices near me and prices list (from p and the prices suffix)
- cheap mobile car detailing, cheap … near me, cheap … near me prices and affordable … near me (from both budget prefixes)
- mobile car detailing business start up cost (from b and the cost suffix)
Local, price, budget and business: the same four themes the rest of the data pointed to.
Turning the data into a content plan
If we were building a site for a mobile detailing business from this data alone, the first pages would be:
- Service page built around "near me" intent: service radius, "we come to your home or office", hours and booking.
- Pricing page covering prices, packages and what affects cost.
- Location pages only for areas actually served, using the city completions as a guide.
- Interior detailing and mold removal pages, both requested specifically.
And for a site targeting would-be owners: startup costs, insurance, equipment and kits, and how to find work.
Limitations of this dataset
- It's one session on one day. Predictions change with trends, location and personalization.
- Autocomplete shows that people search these phrases, not how many do. Check volumes before committing to a large project.
- Theme counts overlap. A keyword like cheap mobile car detailing near me prices counts as both "near me" and "price".
